  • Bookmarks & Saved Verses: Shlokas you mark as favorites.
  • Personal Notes & Reflections: Any notes you write for individual verses.
  • Reading Progress & Streaks: Daily reading counts and streak tracking.
  • Customizations: Preferred language (Hindi/English), reading themes, and font size settings.
  • Journey & Quiz Data: 30-day sadhana checklist progress and chapter quiz scores.

Note: If you uninstall the app or clear its application data via Android device settings, your locally saved preferences and notes will be permanently cleared.

4. Android Device Permissions

The application only requests permissions essential for core features:

Permission Purpose
INTERNET & ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE Used to retrieve Bhagavad Gita verse commentaries and translations from authoritative online sources when you are connected. The app also works offline using cached local storage.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Android 13+) Used exclusively to send local daily reminder notifications with a selected Shloka of the day at your scheduled time. Can be toggled on/off in Settings at any time.
FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PLAYBACK Used solely to keep uninterrupted audio chanting and ambient background sounds active when you navigate between screens or minimize the application.
WAKE_LOCK Prevents the processor from sleeping during active audio recitation sessions.

5. Third-Party Services

The app may connect to the following external APIs solely to load textual chapter information:

  • Content API (RapidAPI Bhagavad Gita API): Used to fetch public domain verses, word meanings, and commentaries. No personal identifying information is transmitted during these content requests.

6. Children’s Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

Our application is suitable for general audiences of all ages and does not knowingly collect or solicit any personal information from children under the age of 13.

7. Security of Your Data

Because your reading history, notes, and preferences never leave your device, your data is protected by the built-in sandbox security of the Android operating system.
